Our History

Bishop Joseph A. Williamson and Pastor Arthur S. Conward, co-founders of Faith International Church (FIC), first crossed paths during the early days of the Little Temple Deliverance Church of God. At that time, Pastor Conward, awaiting divine direction, felt called to assist Reverend Williamson in incorporating the church. This endeavor was completed about three years later, in 1970, after which Reverend Williamson expressed his desire to have Pastor Conward ordained, with Pastor Arthur B. Riley from Jamaica officiating the ceremony.

Shortly thereafter, Pastor Conward felt led by God to establish his own ministry, resulting in the creation of the People's Christian Church of Deliverance.

In October 1992, Bishop Williamson, who had started a new ministry in Silver Spring, Maryland, invited Pastor Conward and his wife for fellowship. Pastor Conward accepted, and during their meeting, Bishop Williamson shared God's vision for them to collaborate. Recognizing their shared divine revelations, the two pastors felt compelled to unite.

They convened with their congregations and held a joint meeting on January 8, 1993. By the following week, on January 15, the churches officially merged, forming a board of trustees to decide on a new name. From the submitted suggestions, the name "Faith International Church” was chosen, marking the beginning of FIC.

Later, on July 11, 2004, Pastor Russell became the pastor of FIC after being mentored by Bishop Arthur Conward, until his retirement in 2004. Pastor Russell continues to lead FIC, providing spiritual leadership and guidance to his congregaton.
